Quality Control - Specialist II

Job Description
Essential Functions:
Inspect fresh meat shipments coming into the warehouse for quality, freshness and weights, dates.
Perform outlined quality control inspections, as needed, on fresh beef and pork to insure adherence to specifications.
Perform daily date and rotation checks on fresh meat.
Inspect all merchandise returned by member stores and insure proper disposition.
Important Functions:
Assist meat merchandising in maintaining dates and, inventory accuracy, and quality specifications covering all incoming products.
Help vendors with weekly date checks and disposition of short dated product.
Assist meat buyers in maintaining proper rotation and accurate slotting in the warehouse.
Help buyers as liaison between mat merchandising and warehouse.
Organize and maintain an accurate and up-to-date record keeping system.
Keep HACCP records accurate and up to date.
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge:
Have knowledge of all meat related items in meat warehouse.
Have knowledge of warehousing.
Abilities:
Able and willing to apply the team approach when working with other AWG staff departments including Meat Procurement and Meat Merchandising personnel.
Able to conduct one's self in a business-like manner in one's relationships with other management peoples and the people with whom one associates.
Able to function independently with little direct supervision.
Able to accept direction of senior management and promote the best interest of AWG and it's members.
Able to use proper judgment regarding acceptability of meat.
Able to communicate effectively with Federal and State Inspectors, Store Managers, and other outside personnel and suppliers.
Experience, Education and Training:
Must have six(6) years of experience in Meat at the retail or warehouse level.
Should have knowledge of meat items.
Physical Requirements:
Perform bending, squatting, sitting, and reaching.
Must be able to work 12 hours when necessary.
Must be able to stand on the floor for most of the day.
Must be able to climb stairs.
Must be able to lift 80 pounds above head.
Working Environment:
Indoors with limited outdoor tasks.
Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 90 F and in light noise.
Must be alert to the safety hazards of warehouse traffic.
Must be able to work in cramped spaces and sparse lighting.
Recommended Skills Communication Food Safety Lighting Merchandising Procurement Management Quality Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
